Leaving a legacy
One of the simplest ways to make an important gift to preserve and protect the Klamath Basin is through your will. You can name Klamath Lake Land Trust as the direct beneficiary of specific assets, a portion of percentage of your estate, or of your residual estate after payment of other bequests.
Bequests to the Klamath Lake Land Trust are free from federal estate tax, and can therefore offer substantial estate tax savings. There is no limit to the amount you can leave to the Land Trust or to other charitable organizations in your will.
How will your gift be invested?
Estate gifts to Greenbelt Land Trust are dedicated to private, voluntary land conservation and the ongoing care of those lands. Gifts may be left unrestricted – to be spent at the Board’s discretion. Funds may also be permanently restricted to our Stewardship Fund, ensuring the care of our conserved lands forever.
